The Lofree 1%’s frame is polycarbonate, and the underside has a reflective coating that gives it a near-mirrored look, with the Lofree logo located in the center.
The steel plate on the front accentuates the see-through design of the Lofree 1%, making it a visually stunning keyboard that can’t be matched in terms of its clear features.
The exquisite design of the keycaps is no doubt a big factor that makes the Lofree 1% unique, and it is obvious a lot of effort was put into them.
Crafted from polycarbonate, the legends are injected directly into the housing so they won’t fade even after prolonged use.
The Clione Limacina switch has transparent housing and uses a typical MX-style layout.
This mechanical keyboard does not have the standard swappable switches; they are soldered to the plate, so don’t expect to change them.

With a 65% layout containing 68 keys, two extra Fn buttons were added to Lofree’s keyboard to access a selection of shortcuts.
- The red Fn button is situated near the Alt key at the bottom, and it’s used for controlling media playback as well as modifying the brightness of the keys.
- The Fn key, which is blue in color and found above the Del key, is used to change Bluetooth profiles and access the function row.
In addition, the Lofree 1% offers great versatility since it can be connected through USB-C or Bluetooth 5.1.
The keyboard can connect to Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS devices and comes with a USB-C cable featuring a right-angled connector. There’s also a toggle on the bottom which allows you to switch modes.
The Lofree 1% sells itself through its great design, which has been carefully emphasized by the use of different lighting effects.
You don’t get RGB lighting here, but the white LEDs do a brilliant job illuminating the board and showing off the see-through design, and they feel distinctive.
Aesthetically, Lofree does a great job. But when it comes to the actual feel of using the keyboard, the Kailh Clione Limacina switch plays an important role.
The Clione Limacina is a switch with a 1.8mm pre-travel and requires 38gf of force to operate with 4mm of total travel.
Despite the low actuation point, you’re bound to type out mistakes constantly. However, the keys offer great feedback, and thanks to the polycarbonate case and body it produces a sound, unlike metal-backed keyboards.
It is quite comfortable, but the keycaps are slightly wobbly.
Lofree is confident that the unique design of its keyboards will set them apart from other mechanical keyboards, and it definitely succeeds in doing so.
Thanks to its unique look, the keyboard stands out a lot and it is obvious that great care was put into designing it.
It’s true that you are paying more for the design of the 1%, but it is undeniably beautiful, and you will get more features at a lower cost with other keyboards.
