Last June, Kojima, and Microsoft revealed that they are collaborating on an upcoming game that will use Microsoft’s cloud technology.
Kojima revealed that at the time, the unannounced title was something he had always wanted to create; a game that “no one has ever experienced or seen before.”
Kojima recently commented that Microsoft was the only company that grasped his concept, while other organizations viewed him as “insane.”

Kojima said to IGN
“Part of why I’ve been able to make games for 30 years is because new technology replaces the old so quickly. The tech you use today may not be applicable tomorrow, and I’m interested in figuring out ways to incorporate the new. Making the wrong choice can result in failure, of course. It’s a bit like a space program in that way.
“The project we’re working on with Microsoft is one I have been thinking about for five or six years already. The project required infrastructure that was never needed before, so I discussed it with lots of different big companies and gave presentations, but they really seemed to think that I was mad. It was ultimately Microsoft who showed that they understood, and now we’re working together on the project, including the technology front.”
Overdose
There are rumors that Kojima is creating a horror game named Overdose, which will feature Margaret Qualley, who had a role in Death Stranding.

Death Stranding 2 for PS5.
Kojima has been hard at work creating Death Stranding 2, which was revealed earlier this month at The Game Awards 2022.
Although the name of the game is tentatively called ‘Death Stranding 2’, Kojima stated that the whole story was written after he experienced the current COVID-19 pandemic.
Considering the development timeline, it’s probable that we’ll be playing Death Stranding 2 before Microsoft’s game.
