Virtual reality headsets are becoming more and more popular in the gaming world. They provide you with a more immersive and hands-on experience whether you’re watching a movie, live music event, or playing a game.
The Canbor VR headset is a great introduction to virtual reality. It fills in the gap between the most premium models and low-end headsets.
In this post, we look at the features and benefits of the Canbor VR headset as well as some of its alternatives.
Canbor VR Headset
The Canbor VR headset is a virtual reality smartphone headset. It is compatible with both iPhone and Android smartphones. It’s also one of the cheapest headsets on the market with a display size between 4.7 and 6.2 inches. Therefore, we think it’s ideal for anyone new to virtual reality. It includes a controller, length adjustment, and an anti-blue ray glass membrane.
Meta Quest 2
If you want a more premium experience with VR, we suggest you give Meta Quest 2 a try. Not only does it have a higher collection of compatible content but it also connects to your computer. You can use it cord-free to play games, watch movies, and more.
HTC Vive Pro 2
If you want to push VR to its limit, we recommend the HTC Vive Pro 2. It offers great specs, motion tracking, and access to the best VR games. Moreover, it has a 5K screen, two LCD screens, and a wider field of view.
Quick Summary of the Main Product
As we mentioned before, the Canbor VR headset is highly affordable so it’s perfect for anyone curious about VR.
Since its launch, the manufacturers have improved the design for a better user experience. This is true since we found the Canbor VR headset much more comfortable than the previous version. The extra padding and 3D panoramic roaming were certainly impressive.
In the box, you will receive:
- The headset
- Blacklight shield plate
- Cleaning cloth for both the lens
It’s important to note that the controller is not a gaming controller but is used to select items, and increase and decrease volume.
If we compare it to other headsets, Canbor headsets are designed in a way where you have to place your phone inside to use apps or play games. This is not necessary for headsets like Playstation VR and HTC Vive.
For this reason, we don’t think this headset is best suited for professional gamers or experienced VR users. We recommend it to a younger audience or someone who’s getting started with virtual reality.
You will also like its high-definition visuals, anti-radiation lens, and anti-blue ray functionality. All things considered, it’s an excellent headset with great value for money.
Features and Benefits
Premium Optic Lens Technology
As we said before, this headset is perfect for young audiences.
In order to protect the eyes of its young users, Canbor VR glasses are equipped with aspheric resin optical lens technology. The anti-radiation and HD anti-blue light lens protects the eyes from damage due to long exposure.
Furthermore, it has FOV 120 for wide-angle viewing. This means you can watch movies, films, landscapes, and cityscapes.
While testing out the headset, we particularly liked its adjustable lens feature. We think it brought a more personal touch because you can adjust the lens according to your eyesight.
It has two knobs. You can use the knob on the top to adjust the pupil focus whereas the knob on the side is used to adjust the focus distance.
You will also appreciate the fact that you don’t need to wear your eyesight glasses with the Canbor VR headset. So, if you suffer from Myopia or nearsightedness, you’ll be able to adjust the focus distance and pupil distance so you can see clearly.
We also noticed that the distance between the smartphone screen and lens makes it seem like you’re sitting at the back of a cinema. This makes it perfect to watch 3D movies.
Visual and Audio Integration
Both the visual and audio systems are set as one in the Canbor VR headset. This makes it an all-immersive VR glasses.
For a more enjoyable experience, it comes with Stretchable HIFI sound quality headphones that ensure soundproofing and 360-degree surround sound.
The buttons to control volume, play or pause the game and answer phone calls are present on the controller. This makes it highly accessible to adjust the audio or perform any other function.
Some design elements made for a unique experience while testing out the Canbor VR headset.
First, the designers left a small hole on the side of the goggles so you can charge your phone while using it. Although this can be quite useful, we suggest you make the charging cable is long enough before you give this a try.
The designers also equipped it with strong straps despite the headset being fairly light. But, this wasn’t a problem as we found it easy to adjust the straps and fit our heads.
In addition, the rims of the goggles had cloth padding and foam and leather padding along the straps. So, the goggles were comfortable and easy to wear.
Since the headset is based on your mobile device, you are limited by your smartphone’s capabilities.
One thing that stood out to us is that the headset comes with a QR code so you can quickly download the Google Cardboard app.
The Google Cardboard app consists of many VR experiences that you might like and brings VR capabilities to your smartphone as you use it with your headset. For example, it has a tour guide that you can use to see the sights of Versailles.
Google Cardboard is not available for Android users. But, this isn’t a problem because there are already a lot of VR games available in the Play Store that you can download.
Factors to Consider Before you Decide to Buy Canbor VR Headset
The setup for the Canbor goggles is quite easy. All you need to do is adjust the backhead straps and make sure the goggles fit comfortably on your head.
We also recommend you to make sure the phone is the right size before you start to watch something on it.
We found the layout of the controller to be very confusing. This is because you cannot see the controller once the goggles are on. The tracking of the controller was not very impressive either.
Another important factor to consider is that the controller does not work with iOS smartphones. So, if you own an iOS smartphone you’re better off with another VR headset.
The Canbor VR headset is compatible with iOS and Android. The smartphones have to be 4 to 6.3 inches long to fit the headset’s semi-closed cabin.
However, it struggles with Apple’s hardware such as in iPhone 6 and 6 plus devices. This is because Apple’s system is completely closed. We also had problems syncing our headset with our iPhone devices.
While testing out the headset, the design of the headset was something that stood out. It comes with a magnetic clamp to hold your phone in place, comfortable padding, and adjustable lenses.
Moreover, the material of the headset is durable and lightweight. This made it pleasant to use while being accessible to users of all ages.
Although the VR experience of Canbor is not as high as that of an Oculus, it still makes a good unit to enjoy VR games and content. We were huge fans of its design.
However, the headset does lack compatibility. We were not able to fit smartphones other than Android and some iPhones into the headset. Moreover, there is not a lot of VR content for iOS users.
The Canbor VR Headset comes with a 12-month warranty.
If you were not satisfied with the headset you can also return the unit after 30 days from the date of purchase.
Pros and Cons
We searched the internet to see what people are really saying about the Canbor VR headset. We were pleased to find positive reviews about the product.
Most users were impressed by the design. They found it comfortable to use. They were also a fan of the adjustable lenses. They claimed it to be lightweight and easy to use.
Here are some of the reviews we come across:

What makes it special is it brings you easy access to everything that makes VR special and worth your time. It is a VR headset that your whole family can use.

This headset is a great option if you want to play VR games. You can run them at 90Hz and even at 120Hz for more realism and comfort.

Since this is an all-in-one VR system, you don’t need to set up external sensors or cameras. Everything you need is in the headset.
The setup process took us only a few minutes. All you need to do is activate your account on the Oculus mobile app, establish your play area and you’re good to go.
We tested the Meta Quest 2 controller with a variety of different games and experiences. It was comfortable and easy to use.
The trigger, controller haptics, and accurate motion sensing allowed us to play multiple games without any hindrance.
Meta Quest 2 is compatible with Xbox one and Microsoft Windows 10. Moreover, all Oculus Quest apps work on Meta Quest 2. But, to access these apps you need Oculus Link through the Oculus PC app.
We found the design to be quite sleek. It comes with a simple strap and four camera sensors. It is a compact design that weighs only 1.1 pounds. So, it was comfortable and easy to use even when we spent more than an hour on it.

It has an impressive hand tracking feature, intuitive setup, and safety system.

#2: Best Premium VR Headset - HTC Vive Pro 2 Review
If you’re looking for a high-spec VR headset, HTC Vive is a great option.
It comes with a 5K screen and a 12Hz refresh rate. This is why we think it is the most visually impressive headset we have tried. It really goes the extra mile to make the digital world as real as possible.
It is also one of the best-sounding headsets thanks to its over-ear headphones and hi-res audio capabilities.
In addition, the HTC Vive Pro 2 has the widest field of view at 120 degrees out of all other headsets. This is a key element in the immersion factor of the headset.
Although the manufacturers have made great efforts to make the headset as comfortable to wear as possible, it did feel a little on the larger side when we tried it on.
But, we did appreciate the inclusion of a physical IPD slider. This is the interpupillary distance. The more accurately you place this, the better the fidelity of the visuals.
Factors to Consider Before you Decide to Buy HTC Vive Pro 2
If you think you’re going to get the HTC Vive Pro 2 home and jump straight into VR, you’ll need to reconsider. The initial setup was quite difficult and time-consuming.
It requires multiple cables, a large play area, and some finicky positioning of external accessories.
The HTC Vive Pro does not ship with its controllers. So, you’ll have to purchase them separately.
The good news is that the controller has extremely accurate tracking. This provides a great VR experience without the frustration of losing tracking of the controller during high stake games like Beat Saber.
The HTC Vive Pro 2 is compatible with all existing HTC VR accessories. This means that if you’re already an HTC user, you won’t have to buy any additional accessories other than the headset.
The Vive Pro 2 is designed to be easily adjustable to fit different head shapes and glasses uses. However, we thought the headset was quite heavy due to the bulk of the design.
HTC also didn’t do a great job when it comes to heat dissipation since the high-resolution screen gets heated up really quickly. We struggled to play games without fogging up the lens and taking breaks because of the heat.
Once the tedious setup of HTC Vive Pro 2 is complete, it’s hard not to love what it delivers in performance. The field of view of the headset, high resolution, and refresh rate made it effortless and fun to use the headset unit.
After you buy the headset, you receive a 24-month warranty period. Therefore, for any problems with the headset we recommend getting it checked within this time frame.
Best Premium VR Headset
The best premium VR headset is the HTC Vive Pro 2 because of its impressive resolution. It is the most diverse headset in the market and accounts for an excellent VR experience.
A VR headset with an easy setup is crucial for a seamless experience with virtual reality.
For the best experience, we recommend you go with something wireless. They are easy to set up, less time-consuming, and the safest option for VR.
A headset controller is an important part of your VR experience. We recommend you go with a headset that includes the controller in the package.
Also, make sure the controller has accurate tracking. The more precise the tracking is on a VR headset controller, the more immersive the VR experience will be.
Before you purchase a VR headset, make sure it is compatible with your mobile devices or meets the PC minimum requirements.
Moreover, if you’re using a tethered headset you will need to upgrade your video card, RAM, and other hardware to meet the minimum requirement.
Comfort is an important factor for VR headsets. Therefore, make sure that the unit is well built and durable.
A VR headset should fit properly while being light and comfortable. The foam padding should spread the weight of the headset over your head and the bridge of your nose equally.
For a first-time user, VR reality and its hardware can be quite confusing. That’s why we suggest you start with a beginner headset before you jump into the professional end.
We also suggest you ease into the experience. People who are not used to VR can also feel motion sickness and vertigo.
Most VR headsets are quite expensive. It’s also common for VR headsets and their hardware to malfunction. Therefore, make sure your VR headset has a warranty of over 12 months. This way you’ll be able to get the unit fixed in case of a problem.
Wrapping Things Up
With that, we end our Canbor VR headset review. The Canbor headset is a great way to experience virtual reality on a budget.
It is easy to use, and set up and has anti-blue ray technology to protect the eyes. Therefore, we think it’s definitely worth it for its price.
However, if you want a more professional headset we suggest you go for the Meta Quest 2. It’s not too heavy on the pocket and offers all the things that make VR special.
