Fixing issues with the PS VR Aim Controllers.

Basic Operations

Power: Turn on your controller by pressing the power switch. It will shut down automatically if it isn’t used for 30 minutes.

Controls: The PlayStation VR Aim Controllers (PS VR Aim Controllers) replicate most of the buttons and functions of a DualShock 4 wireless gamepad.

Play Area: Use your controller and PS VR within the boundaries of the play area. The size of the play area varies depending on the camera’s field of view.

Tracking: the PlayStation camera tracks the sphere on your gamepad for PSVR play. Make sure the sphere appears in front of the camera when playing.

Recommended Grip: To use the gamepad, hold it with two hands. A typical right-gripped gamepad is shown. The opposite hand position will also work for lefties.

How to Pair the Aim Controller?

The PS VR Aim Controller is a Bluetooth wireless gamepad. You’ll be able to pair it with your PlayStation 4 console when you first connect it to your PS4 system and whenever you want to play games using it with another PS4.

Connecting your PlayStation 4 console to your TV via HDMI cable* and pressing the power button on the back of the console will turn on your PS4.

Once you’ve paired your wireless gamepad, you can unplug the micro USB cable from your console and use your gamepad wirelessly.

Micro-USB

The PlayStation VR Aim Controllers are not supplied with a USB port. You must use the included USB cable for your DualShock4 wireless controllers.

How to Charge the Aim Controller?

Before starting, ensure that your controller is fully powered up and connected to your PlayStation 4 system using a micro USB cord.

If you want to charge your controller while your computer is in sleep mode, open Settings > Power Save Settings > Set Features Available in Sleep Mode > Supply power to USB ports.

When the sphere starts flashing orange, it means that it’s fully charged.

Troubleshoot Input Lag, Pairing, or Flashing Light Issues

If your controller doesn’t pair (it flashes when you press the button) or doesn’t respond or has input latency, please follow the instructions below on how to reset the device.

Charging Problems

If your controller isn’t charging, check if any of these things are true:

  • Plug in and recharge the PlayStation VR Aim Controller before first use.
  • Make sure you use the USB cable that came with the PlayStation 4.
  • Make sure the PlayStation VR aims and batteries charge before using them. Press the PS buttons on the front of the headset to turn it on. On the left side of the screen, you’ll see the PS VR controllers and the battery icon.
  • Make sure USB charging (charging via a computer) is enabled. To do so, open Settings > Power Save Settings > Set Functions Available in Rest mode > Supply power to USB ports and select Always or 3hrs.
  • Try using another USB port and a new cable on the controller.

Unresponsive Buttons, Triggers, or Analog Sticks

If any of the controllers’ buttons, triggers, or joysticks aren’t functioning correctly, please contact PlayStation support.

You must provide proof of purchase when requesting repair services under the PS VR Aim one-year manufacturer’s warranty and accidental damages aren’t covered.

PS Camera Has Difficulty Recognizing PS VR Aim Controller Movement

The PlayStation Camera tracks where the light sphere is located on the end of the DualShock 4 controller for PS4 games.

Make sure the sphere appears in front of the player at all times during gameplay

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How do you use VR on PS4?

  1. Plug the USB cord into both the back of the PlayStation 4 console and the USB ports on the console itself.
  2. Plug the headset cord into the front of the computer.
  3. Connect the power cable to the processor unit and the AC adapter. Plug the AC adapter into the socket. The PSVR is now connected.

Why are my PS4 VR controllers not working?

If the buttons don’t respond, click the reset button on the rear of the remote control for a few seconds.

Connecting the controllers requires connecting them using a USB cord. Then press the PS button and they will be connected.

How do I calibrate my VR controller on PS4?

First go to the Settings screen and then click on the Devices option. Choose PlayStation VR from there.

When you open the app, all the calibration options for your PSVR device and your controller(s) will be available right away.

Why isn’t my PS4 VR controller charging?

A low voltage means that the lithium-ion batteries used by the PS3 motion controller refuse to charge if they drop too far below 3 volts.

It’s unfortunate because contrary to popular belief, you can actually recharge a depleted lithium-ion battery back to full capacity.
