Digital voice assistants have grown and improved over time, allowing them to accomplish advanced tasks rather than just providing information about the weather and doing simple conversions.

Based on the latest comparison done by prominent YouTuber MKBHD, Google Assistant was crowned as the best voice assistant, outperforming Apple’s Siri, Samsung’s Bixby, and Amazon’s Alexa.

Google Assistant

It is no secret that Google Assistant is the most advanced voice assistant in terms of accuracy and amount of features/functionality it has.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise given that Google’s AI is incredibly powerful and the data it collects from its users (including your own) is used to give each person a better, more personalized experience.

What’s Interesting in the Test That MKBHD Conducted?

General Queries

To begin with, all these assistants are proficient in answering general inquiries such as the weather or setting a timer. Surprisingly, Siri can only set one timer while Bixby allows multiple timers to be created.

Greatest Control over a User’s Device

The comparison revealed that Google Assistant and Samsung Bixby would have the greatest control over a user’s device, allowing them to interact with apps, take pictures and start voice recordings, among other functions.

Worst Performer

Out of all the rivals, Amazon Alexa was the worst performer due to multiple mishaps.

  • To start with, Alexa doesn’t work with smartphones which makes it less personal compared to other voice assistants.
  • The second, and most important point is, Alexa’s poor accuracy in finding information, inability to integrate with other apps, and weak conversational abilities make it a lackluster experience when used on a phone.

Amazon ads breaking up the flow of the content is another disappointment.
