Vivo has finally unveiled its awaited S16 series, featuring three devices: the Vivo S16 Pro, the Vivo Vanilla S16, and the Vivo S16e.

Vivo S16 Series

Vivo S16 Pro

The Vivo S16 Pro is the flagship phone of the new device lineup.

Display

The S16 Pro offers a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Camera

Featuring an impressive 50MP selfie camera with autofocus and dual LED flash, housed on top of the notch, this phone also has an impressive rear camera setup. With a 50MP main camera utilizing Sony’s IMX766V sensor and OIS, it’s clear to see why it’s the headline feature.

Additionally, this device has an 8MP ultrawide module as well as a 2MP macro camera.

Color

The Vivo S16 Pro comes in two colors: black and jade green.

Price

The price of the Vivo S16 Pro starts at CNY 3,299 ($472) for the 12/256GB variant. The top-tier 12/512GB variant will be priced at CNY 3,599 ($515).

Vanilla S16

We’ll now move on to the second device in our lineup. The Vivo S16 includes the same display and design but with different cameras.

Display

It features the Snapdragon 870 chipset and a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, similar to the Pro version.

Camera

The Vivo S16 has a setup just like the Vivo S15, plus an impressive 50MP selfie shooter that features autofocus and dual LED flash. The notch in the display also houses this device.

This means that the phone has a 64MP main camera with PDAF and OIS, as well as 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro units.

What’s more, the vanilla S16 has a main camera with 50MP resolution and f/1.8 aperture along with a 2MP depth macro module and a 2MP depth camera.

Color

The Vanilla Vivo S16 comes in black, jade green, and gradient colors.

Price

The most affordable 8/128GB model costs CNY 2,499 ($357) while the highest tier with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage is priced at CNY 3,299 ($472).

Vivo S16e

Lastly, the S16e is the least expensive model in the series, featuring an Exynos 1080 SoC and a 120Hz AMOLED display.

Display

As well as this, the Vivo S16e has a 6.62-inch flat AMOLED display and the same 120Hz refresh rate but in a smaller size.

Camera

This device carries a 16MP selfie camera and uses the same chipset as its predecessor, the Samsung Exynos 1080.

Color

The Vivo S16e is available in three colors: black, jade green, and purple.

Price

The Vivo S16e starts at CNY 2,099 ($300) for the 8/128GB variant and can go up to a maximum of CNY 2,499 ($357) for the 12/256GB model.

Batteries

The battery capacity of the 3 handsets is 4,600 mAh and they support fast 66W wired charging.

OS

The Vivo S16 and S16 Pro will both be running the latest Android 13 with OriginOS 3, while the S16e will have the older Android 11 with OriginOS Ocean.

On December 30, the Vivo S16 smartphone range will begin official sales within China. At this time, no information has been given about an international release.
