After just over a month since it launched on Xbox consoles, the action/rogue-lite shooter Vampire Survivors gets its first DLC. It’s called Legacy of Moonspell and it releases for PC via Steam and Xbox One on December 15th.
Story
Legacy Of The Moonsplen is set in a world where the moon never sets, making it ideal for vampire hunting.
The theme is also influenced by Japanese folklore, but there are some new enemies who are based on yōkai and oni, and the main character is described as self-consciously a shōnen hero.
Gameplay
You just need to survive for thirty minutes against increasingly difficult wave after wave of monsters that chase you across the screen.
As you get stronger, these supernatural creatures turn into nothing more than cannon fodder before your ever-expanding arsenal of whiplashes, laser beams, and a sword that summons the power of an entire universe to destroy enemies.

Map
The new content features a new map that developer Poncle describes as the game’s biggest level yet.
The new level, Mt. Moonspell, adds
- an abandoned castle
- A snowy mountain
- a Yokai-infested village.
Weapons
The DLC adds over twelve new weapons, including
- an ancestral wind force
- orbs that release the powers of seasons
- a dark summoning weapon
- an enchanted kimono.
Characters
There will be eight brand-new playable characters, with four of them having been revealed so far.
- Miang Moonspell is the last disciple of the Moonspell Clan
- Menya Moonspell is one of the few surviving Moonspell elders
- Syuuto Moonspell is a banished practitioner of new moon dark magic
- Babi-Onna has returned from the dead to seek vengeance on demons and mortals.
Thanksgiving Stage
A new challenge has been added to the game called “Thanksgiving stage,” which puts players on a small bridge that’s filled with enemies from all sides, and a sleeper success, Vampire Survivors, has just joined Xbox Game Pass.
