Owning a Turtle Beach headset is part of the must-have gaming experience – if you’re a gamer and you’ve yet to own one, you’re missing out!

As one of the most popular gaming headsets on the market, Turtle Beach has a collection of different headsets with distinct features and varied prices.

We got the chance to try out the recently released Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX headset and, after previously using their 600 Gen 2 MAX, we weren’t sure there was much more they could do. We were wrong.

Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX

The 600 Gen 2 MAX was specifically designed and manufactured with the Xbox in mind while the Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX was created for the PS5.

However, both models can be used with other consoles and PC as long as you plug in the corresponding USB that comes with it.

DTS Headphone

The Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX has some features not found on the Stealth 600, such as DTS Headphone: X 7.1 surround

  • Sound with active noise-cancellation
  • Bluetooth connectivity, allowing you to easily connect any Bluetooth-enabled device to the headset.

Clarity

Aside from gaming, the headset can be used for about thirty hours for podcasts, music, and audiobooks. It worked flawlessly with no sound drops and provided much clearer sound than more costly headsets that are geared toward music.

Battery

Taking the battery into consideration, the 600 Gen 2 MAX just barely outshines its predecessor.

The lesser model boasts forty-eight hours per charge, whilst the Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX only manages a measly forty per charge.

Playstation’s 3D Audio

You might be wondering why this model is designed specifically with the PS5 in mind. It’s because the headset is compatible with Playstation’s 3D Audio.

Microphone

This quality is also passed on to the microphone, for example with the Stealth 600 Gen 2 MAX, which is super clear and makes sure that your teammates will hear your words of advice properly.

Detractors

Although there are only two negative aspects to this headset, most people won’t experience one of them. After prolonged use for around three to four hours, you may start feeling ear discomfort and will have to take rest.

A few minutes later and you’ll be good for another good few hours, but as the average person won’t be using this for such extended stints, it’s hard to put too much weight on this side of the headset.

We have covered more about the latest technologies, their updates, findings and more here.

Connectivity

A disadvantage of the headset is its connection.

When listening to music, the Bluetooth headset would disconnect and reconnect any time the music was paused, until it was completely turned off or the music resumed playing.

Although not especially troublesome, it was still frustrating having to disconnect and reconnect and hear the automated voice telling me it had done just that every time.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX is one of the best headsets released by the company in terms of audio quality on both the microphone and headset.

Despite bug issues from time to time, its Bluetooth connectivity and customizable app provide extensive use for the headset beyond just gaming.
