The Tom Clancy shoot-to-looter was initially released on Ubisoft’s own digital storefront and the Epic Games Store. It is going to be available on Steam in February, as a part of Ubisoft’s decision to go back to Valve’s platform.

The Division 2
The Division 2’s Steam page is now up and running, yet no data related to any Steam-connected features has been released.
Ubisoft Back on the Steam Platform
Last month, Ubisoft declared that their video games would be coming back to Steam, with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on December 6th, Anno 1800, and Roller Champions soon afterward.

A Ubisoft representative mentioned how they are consistently looking for ways to make their games available to more people, which was why they made the decision.
Why Division 2 Ditched Steam?
Back in 2019, Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft, mentioned during an earnings call that snubbing Steam for The Division 2 is a “long-term positive”. Certainly, part of his optimism was due to the fact that Epic Store only takes a 12% cut on revenue as opposed to Steam’s take of 30%.
Since the release of these games has now finished, buying up any remaining potential customers on Steam would be a financially sound business move, even with a lower revenue share.
In his The Division 2 review, Brendy (RPS in peace) praised it for being both vapid hogwash and a moreish, rock-solid shooter. He also perceived it as an improvement over the first game, which was already gratifying and a mindless time-waster.
