Although Telegram is not our first choice among messaging apps, it still provides a great selection of features that make it one of the top 10 messaging applications.

What makes the app great is that it regularly provides helpful updates, making the user experience even better.

Right when you were able to relax and send messages to friends and family for the new year, Telegram unveiled one last update before 2022.

Updates

Blurring

A highlighted feature of the new release is an effect that applies a “shimmering” layer to text and media files when they are sent in chat, blocking potential spoilers. This layer can only be removed by tapping it.

Separate Auto-Remove Settings

App users now have access to better storage management features to keep their apps organized. For example, they can set auto removal for cached media from Private Chats, Groups, and Channels, as well as view space usage in a helpful pie chart.

Drawing and Text Tools

In this update, Telegram has enhanced its drawing and text capabilities. Widths for drawn lines can now be changed dynamically, along with smoothed line edges. Additionally, a blur tool and an eyedropper tool have been added, allowing for increased precision in selecting colors.

Customization

Furthermore, there is more flexibility when adding messages to photos with options like different fonts, sizes, shapes, and even custom-animated emojis.

On top of this, users can now pick profile photos for their contacts, giving them more control over how they appear in the app. Plus, you can even make a suggestion to your contacts about what photo they should use! It could be a fun way to interact.

Extra Layers of Protection

This update provides users with extra protection, such as new profile photo settings, hiding members list for chats with more than 100 participants, and a progress animation feature to better navigate messages or images in chat.

Interactive Emoji

Telegram is introducing new effects for interactive emojis that take over the entire screen. Additionally, premium members have access to extra emoji packs. For those that haven’t experienced it before, Telegram is definitely worth taking a closer look at.
