TCL has revealed a major revamp of its TV lineup, introducing two new series: the Q- and S-Series. While there is no direct replacement for the popular 6-Series, the brand’s new flagship TV, the TCL QM8, is sure to impress.

TCL QM8

Features

  • Quantum dots
  • HighBright Ultra panel with over 2,300 local dimming zones
  • Provides contrast that can compete with OLED TVs

Game Accelerator 240

  • Delivers 240Hz VRR gaming by halving the vertical resolution of the display
  • Provides a frame rate typically only seen on a 240Hz gaming monitor
  • Will be thoroughly tested in an upcoming review

Additional Features

  • Wi-Fi 6
  • Built-in soundbar for enhanced audio

TCL Q7

Features

  • 4K TV
  • Quantum dot screen with a HighBright Ultra backlight panel
  • Full Array “Pro” local dimming
  • Five times the number of dimming zones found in TCL’s QLED models from the previous year
  • Game Accelerator 240 for 240Hz VRR gaming

Q6: Entry-level Quantum Dot-equipped 4K TV that can play games at 120 fps with VRR using the Game Accelerator 120 feature

QD-OLED TV

TCL is working on a QD-OLED TV to compete with models from Samsung and Sony. More information and pricing and availability for Q- and S-Series TVs will be announced later this year
