SpaceX has continued to prepare for the first-ever launch of its new Starship Mars rocket.

SpaceX performed another “static fire” test today (Dec. 15) at its South Texas facility, lighting up Ship 24, a prototype of Starship’s 165-foot-tall (50 meters) upper-stage spacecraft.

Falcon 9 Rockets

After igniting its six rocket engines, one of SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rockets successfully launched into space from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.

The Starship rocket will be launched into orbit by the end of 2022. It was tested successfully last month.

SpaceX Launches Its Biggest Ever Rocket Into Space

Ship 24 will lift off atop Booster 7, a Prototype of Starship’s Massive Super Heavy First Stage. SpaceX has been putting Boosters 7 through its pails as well. On November 29th, for instance, the Giant Rocketeer lifted off 11 of its 33 Raptors, 15 Days Before That, the Booster Performed A 14-ENGINES STATIC FIRE.

Starship Rockets Are Going Into Space!

SpaceX is developing the Starship rocket to carry humans and payloads into space. It could be used for launching the majority of SpaceX’s new generation of Starlink satellite constellations. Elon Musk says he wants to send tourists to Mars by 2024.

Starship Lunar Mission

SpaceX has already lined up some clients for Starship lunar missions. NASA selected the vehicle to be the First Crewed Lander for their Artemis moon ship project, and Japanese billionaire Yusakusu Maezawa booked a trip around the Earth that will carry a few artists and influencers, among them Everyday Astronaut Tim Dodd.
