Although it may be risky to tease Silent Hill fans, here’s a bit of joyous news for the new year: recent reports have indicated that a new entry in the survival horror series was spotted in September and has recently been rated for PlayStation 5.

An Announcement by Konami Entertainment

In October 2020, Konami Digital Entertainment – the publisher of Silent Hill – held a “Silent Hill Transmission” digital event to announce several new Silent Hill projects, such as a remake of Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill: Ascension, Silent Hill: Townfall and Silent Hill f. Nonetheless, no game called “Silent Hill: The Short Message” was revealed.

Check out the trailer for Silent Hill f, which takes place in a rural part of Japan in the 1960s:

Korean Game Ratings

A couple of months back, the Korean Game Ratings and Administration Committee released information regarding The Short Message, which included a rating and the name of the game’s publisher. UNIANA usually releases Konami games in Korea, so let’s hope the game is brought to other countries too.

Confusion Regarding the Game

It is a riddle, however. In the Silent Hill Transmission stream in October, this game wasn’t presented in Konami’s list of latest Silent Hill releases.

We watched the Silent Hill 2 remake from Bloober Team, Silent Hill Townfall from No Code, and Silent Hill Ascension from GENVID as well as Silent Hill f from Neobards.

Sad to say, some loyalists haven’t been very cheerful that Bloober Team is taking part and Silent Hill f has been announced to be the ninth main title in the series and will take the games down an alternate pathway.

Conclusion

So what is The Short Message and when shall we find out more about it? The explanations for these two queries will only originate from Konami itself.
