Samsung has introduced the first-ever DDR5 DRAM chips in the world, featuring 12nm semiconductor fabrication technology.

Compatible with AMD’s Zen Processors

The company exhibited its 16Gb DDR5 DRAM chips and mentioned that the latest chips worked well with AMD’s Zen processors.

Increased Performance with Lower Energy Consumption

Compared to the previous DRAM chips, the new chips are much more power-efficient, increasing efficiency by 23% with the help of high-κ material.

Samsung utilized its patented technology to build necessary circuits and use a high-κ material known to boost cell capacitance.

Did you know: Samsung has launched two new budget phones with dual cameras and a Long battery.

Samsung DDR5 DRAM Features

The new DDR5 DRAM chips engineered by the company rely on cutting-edge, multi-level lithography that gives them the sector’s highest die density.

These chips acquire a 20% boost in wafer productivity, in addition to offering a data transmission rate of as much as 7.2 Gbps.

Take a look at the latest news about the technology world and how it’s progressing.

This speed is equivalent to processing two 30Gb 4K movies in merely one second. Samsung plans to kick off mass production of its 12nm-class DDR5 DRAM chips at the start of 2023.

If this timeline stands, we can assume gadgets embodying this chip will be released sometime during Q4 of 2023.
