Samsung initially released the Intel-powered Galaxy Book2 Pro 360 in February but will soon launch a new version run by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 chipset.

South Korea had the official release of the new model on January 16, priced at KRW 1.89 million.

Performance

The 8cx Gen 3 was the inaugural 5nm chipset for Windows-on-ARM devices, and it brought notable performance gains when it debuted in late 2020.

Compared to the Gen 2, the new model has an 85% increase in multi-core CPU performance, a 60% increase in GPU performance, and an NPU that can achieve up to 29 TOPS.

Intel Version

The same 13.3” laptop running on Intel is identical in form to the model described- incredibly lightweight at 1.04kg and thin at 11.5mm (2.29 lbs, 0.45″).

Display

As the name suggests, the AMOLED display can rotate 360°, so it can be used as a tablet to take notes with the included S Pen stylus.

Battery

The battery life of the Snapdragon-powered laptop has increased significantly, offering up to 35 hours of video playback in one charge, while the Intel model only provides a maximum of 21 hours.

Connectivity

This one is superior with integrated 5G and Wi-Fi 6E support. However, it is more costly – a Core i5 13.3” version can be purchased for KRW 1.65 million for example.

Secured-Core PC

This model is suitable for business purposes as it features Windows 11 and follows Secured-Core PC requirements put forward by Microsoft. It provides the highest level of safety since all hardware are secure to the firmware.

Price

The Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro 360 with Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 is set to launch in South Korea on January 16, and will cost KRW 1.89 million (equivalent to $1,500, €1,400, or ₹124,000).

It’s uncertain whether the product will be available internationally or when that might take place.
