We found the Galaxy Z Flip 4 to be an excellent upgrade over its predecessor, but its outer display was somewhat limited in function.

Improvements

A new tipster has now revealed some details regarding the hinge and outer screen of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5. These improvements will also affect the overall look of the upcoming foldable phone from Samsung.

According to tipster @Universe_Ice, the next installment in the series of Samsung Galaxy Z Flip phones will include a larger outer screen and a new folding mechanism.

These design elements on the Galaxy Z Flip 6 could be similar to the upcoming Oppi Find N2 Flip phone that is expected to launch soon.

We have more exciting news. Keep reading!

New Hinge Mechanism

The new hinge mechanism uses a water-droplet-shaped structure to hold the inner folding display in place when it’s closed.

While the folded area digests deeper into the two halves, it also allows for minimum creases in the folded section of the display.

The same hinge mechanism also lets both halves of a foldable sit flat against one another.

It makes sense that having a thinner overall design would be better than Samsung’s current folding mechanism.

Features

According to the tipsters, the phone will feature a 5.7-inches screen. It could be larger than the Galaxy Z Flip 4’s 1.9-inches screen, but it might not be as big as the 6.4-inches screen of the OnePlus 7 Pro.

According to the tipsters, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 has a larger battery than the Galaxy Note 10+’s, but smaller than the one found in the Find X 2. It may be slightly larger than the Find N2 Flip’s battery.

Oppo Find 7a

The Oppo Find 7a has been leaking for quite some time now. A leaked video revealing its foldable mechanism and outer display, through a recent render suggests the top part of its overall look, including its outer display and camera setup.

OPPO’s Find N2 series smartphone, which also includes the new Find N2 (to compete against Samsung’s Galaxy Z fold), is expected to be unveiled at Oppo’s In No Day event starting on December 14.
