Electrifying Supercars

There’s an argument that electrifying supercars could be dangerous because they might cause people to lose control of themselves. Supercars are vehicles that stick to the road so closely that they can literally push your internal organ out of place.

However, electric vehicles are coming and how they’re managed could be the difference between a vehicle winning over skeptics or failing and giving the gas-or-noise people another reason why EVs are doomed.

McLaren’s Artura

McLaren’s new car, the Artura, isn’t just a technological marvel—it’s also going to be a huge hit among people who want to drive fast cars.

Performance

0 to 60Km

The Artura can go from 0 to 60 mph in 3 seconds. It’s because of its electric powertrain.

Transmission

Between a twin-turbo V6 and an eight-speeder sits a small electric motor that’ll add low-end torque when launching and while leaving corners while the gasoline engine catches up.

Mileage

According to the EPA, Artur travels 11 miles without using any fossil fuels when he drives an electric vehicle (EV).

McLaren noted that it might be able to achieve a range of 15 miles per charge if it had more time on the track. However, it’ll never be in the same category as the other plug-in hybrids on the market because it’ll always be a supercar with all its fun and thrill.

Test Drive

We got a chance to try it out on the roads around Las Vegas, Nevada, and ended the day with 14 laps around a track. In both situations, it impressed me.
