After launching macOS Ventura last year, Apple has been working hard to bring new features to the operating system, while fixing any bugs that were discovered during its launch.
After several weeks of beta testing for macOS Sierra 10.12, Apple has released macOS Ventura 13.1 to Mac users worldwide.
It brings the highly anticipated Apple Freeform app, which includes end-to-end encryption for more iCloud data types.
Classic iOS Apps Are Now on MacOS
Two of Apple‘s native apps for macOS are now conveniently available on Windows.
Clock
It has a very similar layout to the one found on iPhones and iPads and includes all four functions – World Clock, Alarms, Stopwatch, and timer.
On Mac computers, there’s an option to display the time in the menu bar.
Weather
On the Weather app for Mac, your current location and other saved locations are displayed on the right side of the screen. At the top center of the screen, you see the current temperature and weather conditions.
Here’s the hourly weather report for today, tomorrow, and next week. You can see the 10-day outlook, radar, and a clean grid of more details like air pollution, UV index, sunsets, winds, feels like humidity, and more.
You can click the “sidebar” icon at the top left corner to hide the location list and maximize the Weather app’s UI.

iMessage Flexibility
Two new features that were introduced with iOS 16 are now available for macOS Ventura: Unsending and editing iMessages.
However, accessing it on Mac is different from using it on iOS devices. To access it on Mac, do a right mouse click on an iMessage.
The same rules apply to both Macs and iPhones/iPads.
- You can undo send within two minutes of sending.
- You can edit your message up to 15 minutes after submitting it and there is no limit to the number of times you can change your message within that time frame.

Mail Upgrades
You can undo sending messages by pressing the “unsend” button within 10 seconds after you send them. However, if you want to undo sending messages earlier than that, you need to change the default settings.
- Look in the bottom left corner after you send an e-mai lto see if it was sent successfully.
- You can set the unsend option to last for up to 30 seconds by heading to Mail’s Settings > Composing > Undo send delay
Another handy addition to the Mail app is the ability to schedule outoging mail for future times.

Stage Manager Isn’t Just for iPad
While much of the Stage Manager conversation has revolved around the implementation on iPad, Mac is in on the new multitasking UI experience with macOS Monterey.
To use it:
- Click the Control Center icon in the top right corner of your Mac (double pill icons)
- Click Stage Manager near the top right
Seamlessly Use iPhone as Your Mac Webcam
Continuity Camera arrived with iOS 16 and macOS Ventura and means you can take advantage of using your fantastic iPhone camera as your Mac webcam.
It works wirelessly and supports use across both native and third-party apps, including video calls in web browsers.
How to Use a Continuity Camera?
- Running iOS 16 and macOS Ventura, check that WiFi and Bluetooth are on for both your Mac and iPhone
- Make sure your Mac and iPhone are signed in with the same Apple ID and using 2FA
- By default, Continuity Camera is turned on – but you can make sure by heading to the iPhone Settings app > General > AirPlay & Handoff > Continuity Camera
- Toggle it off and then back on if you’re having trouble connecting your iPhone to your Mac
- Bring your iPhone near your Mac as you launch FaceTime, Photo Booth, Zoom, or any other app that can utilize a camera (video services in web browsers too)
- Your Mac should automatically switch to using your rear iPhone camera
- If it doesn’t automatically use your iPhone camera, click video preferences for whatever app you’re using and choose your iPhone from the list (you can also use your iPhone microphone)
- Or as mentioned above, turn the Continuity Camera off and then back on
