Nikon Z 400MM F/2.8 TC VR S

To start off news coverage for January, it was announced that the highly-anticipated Nikon Z 400mm f/2.8 TC VR S was released – making it the longest native Z-mount NIKKOR to date due to its integrated 1.4x teleconverter.

Irix 21mm T1.5 Cine Lens

Wooing a wide audience, the Irix 21mm T1.5 cine lens became the sixth in the company’s series, available in no less than seven mount options including Canon RF, Nikon Z, and Sony E. In other news, Cosina announced that it would showcase two new Voigtländer and Zeiss ZM & DSLR lenses at the forthcoming CP+ imaging show.

Autofocus Lenses from Samyang

Samyang just announced an AF 135mm F1.8 FE lens, marketed by Rokinon in the US, which is designed to optimize portraits, landscapes, astrophotography, and video capture. This new addition increases the range of autofocus lenses for Sony cameras.

Meyer Optic Görlitz Trioplan 35mm F/2.8 II

To bring up the rest of January’s news, Meyer Optics Görlitz declared their Trioplan 35mm f/2.8 II lens would be available for almost every camera mount type on the

Nikon FTZ II

We then tested the Nikon FTZ II, a redone version of the mount adaptor for F-mount lenses for Z-system cameras.

The protruding tripod mounting socket which hindered the Z 9’s vertical grip has been removed.

We also tested the Nikon Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S and found it to be very effective, even though it’s expensive.

Nikon Z-Series Standard Zoom Lens

Nikon followed up with the Z 24-120mm f/4 S, another F-mount standard zoom lens that features enhanced handling and improved image quality.

To round things out, Samyang’s AF 18mm F2.8 FE serves as an example that high-quality lenses don’t necessarily need to come at a hefty price or with a large build.
