Skyrim VR is an immersive virtual reality experience where players explore a massive open world from new perspectives. To uplift the immersive experience, you can now use the move feature in Skyrim VR.

Let’s find out how you can do that.

How to Move Skyrim VR?

To move Skyrim VR, just press the “move” button (the one with the bug symbol in the middle) to move.

Pressing this button will create an arc that indicates where you’re going to move. When you release the button, you will be teleported there.

Skyrim VR

The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim has been around since 2011. It’s had several different incarnations, including a re-release enhanced edition, a portable version for the Nintendo Switch, and now an outing into virtual reality.

Skyrim VR has an amazing story, epic scope, and freedom to explore makes it just as good as the original game. The realistic VR mechanics makes it surprisingly immersive and easy for players to enjoy.

Standing on your feet for several hours at a time won’t be too difficult. Believe us when we say that it will.

Compatibility

Skyrim VR works on

  • HTC Vive
  • Vive Pro
  • Oculus Rift

  • PlayStation VR

Features

Play Skyrim again, but this time with mods!

  • “Realistic” mechanics are incredibly immersive

  • It looks really old-fashioned.

  • It may be expensive.

Does It Make Sense in VR?

Despite all this, we’re not sure if VR is meant for RPGs at all, especially when they’re on the scale of Skyrim!

We’ve already spent over 60+ hours exploring the world of Skyrim in real life. It’d be extremely tiring to explore the same world in VR, especially if you enjoy exploring the game from a seated position.

It means you can do things such as realistic stealthing, but it also means an annoying backache when you’ve gone up the 7,000 stairs to see the old men or trudged across the snowy plains to get to your next objective.

We soon discovered how easy it was to lose track of time while playing this game, especially when you were in the VR world and couldn’t see the clock ticking by in the real world.

How To Use Controllers With Skyrim VR?

If you’ve just begun playing Skyrim VR, you may have made the error of using a DualShock 4 controller and have felt extremely ill.

The good news is the PlayStation Move Controler makes things a lot easier.

The game doesn’t really explain how to use the motion controls well enough for us to recommend them, but here’s a quick tutorial if you want to give them a shot.

How To Turn Around?

Next, you may wish to rotate your head. However, turning your head doesn’t necessarily mean rotating your entire body.

You can use the right analog stick to control your character’s rotation by pressing either the X button or the O button.

Combat

You don’t need to think too hard about this. Just swing your sword at the enemy and hold up a shield when they attack you.

Combat movement is not so easy, but there isn’t anything we can do about that right now.

Archery

It may take some time to get used to, but once you’ve mastered it, archery is actually pretty simple.

  • Put an object on top of the bow so that the tip of the bow is pointing down.
  • To shoot an arrow, hold down the right mouse button and drag the cursor backward.
  • When the string is pulled back completely, pull the trigger to fire the arrow.

How To Sneak?

Since teleportation doesn’t involve any physical movement, you may assume that there wouldn’t be any noise associated with it. However, if you teleport past enemies, they hear the sound of your footsteps, so you must be careful when sneaking.

To get into crouch mode, press the Triangle and the right Trigger button at the same time. You will then enter crouch mode. While in crouch mode, your movement speed is reduced.

Navigating the Menu

You move up and down the same way when navigating menus, vendors, or conversations.

While holding the right trigger button, press it up/down or left /right, according to the options available to you, until you reach the desired option.

This will allow you to click that direction on a d-pad and navigate the menus in Skyrim VR.

Looting And Interacting With Objects

To interact with an item, you need to be close enough to see it clearly and touch it with your right hand.

It’s because it’s difficult to know when you’re actually hitting something. After a while, though, you’ll be able to loot items a lot faster, but it doesn’t take long for you to get used to it.

When you touch an object, a message will appear telling you how to interact with it.

To interact with an item, press the Move/Use buttons. If you’re looking, you can use these controls to select which lootable objects you want to take.

Customizing Skyrim VR

We want to give some tips for those who are new to Skyrim VR on how they can customize their experience to fit their play style and preferences.

You can play Skyrim VR using either the PlayStation Move controllers or the DualShock 4.

Teleportation

It has both teleportation and direct movement modes and various settings to suit your preferences.

The game will default into teleportation mode, but just press Enter to move normally.

The main screen > gameplay settings > VR options > movement and select your preferred setting.

You can adjust these settings to suit your preferences. For example, there are other settings in the VR menu that you can adjust to suit your preferences, such as comfort settings, dominant hands, and more.

Move Controllers

When pressing the Move button (on the left motion controller), point in a certain way. Tapping the right motion controller X or O buttons turns.

DualShock 4

With the exception of camera movement, which is controlled by the right analog joystick, the DualShock 4 works exactly as its predecessor did in the original PlayStation 4 version.

Conclusion

The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim VR is a virtual reality (VR) RPG video game designed by Bethesda Game Studios and released by Bethesda Softworks. It was first announced at E3 2013.

It was released for PS4, Oculus Rift, HTC VIVE, Windows PC, and Samsung Gear VR on November 17th, 2016.

The new title features an open-world setting with three playable characters, one of which was featured in previous titles.
