FNAF VR: The Final Chapter is an action-adventure horror video game developed by WayForward Technologies and published by Nintendo for the Virtual Boy console.

You might be wondering, how scary Fnaf VR is. Let’s find out!

How Scary is FNAF VR?

Fnaf VR is an online virtual-realty game set in the world of Fnaf. You play as one of the main characters from Fnafand must escape from the Fnaf facility.

Fnaf is all about heart-pounding jump-scares. It’s rated 12+, so it’s not quite suitable for many preteen players.

That said, the series forgoes the blood, gore, and violence typically associated with the horror genre in favor of innocent (if still pretty terrifying) shocks.

Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted – Review

Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted is possibly the scariest horror video-gaming experience ever created.

Gameplay

For anyone not familiar with the Five Nights At Freddy’s series, Five Nights At Freddy’s is a video game where you play as a security officer at a pizza restaurant, with animatronic characters and games.

You must stay alive for five nights while the characters try to kill you by forcibly stuffing you into a spare Fredbear costume.

Funtime Foxy Dark Rooms

For people who suffer from motion sickness, you shouldn’t have to spend too much time worrying about this particular VR experience.

Aside from the crawling in the “Funtime Foxy Dark Rooms” mini-games, most of the action takes place through teleportation.

So if you’re feeling nauseous when playing VR games, you might not enjoy this one. But all of the others should suit you just fine.

Compatibility

The VR experience is currently available for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Windows Mixed Reality Headset (except for the Oculus Quest).

It was announced that Oculus Quest support would be added soon, but there hasn’t been any news since then. There has been no mention of Valve Index support.

Enjoyable

Personally, we didn’t find any of the previous Five Nights at Freddy’s games scary. They were enjoyable, though, we enjoyed theorizing about them, they had some really cool design ideas for the animatronic characters, but none of them were scary. However, Help Wanted is absolutely terrifying.

As soon as you begin playing the game, you’ll notice three characters standing on top of a platform. They’ll stare at you, regardless of where you go, so make sure you keep your eyes open. Once you’ve turned around, you’ll also find Foxy.

The animatronics will turn their heads to face you, no matter how much distance you travel. However, they’re quite large, so try not to let them intimidate you too much.

FNAF VR

Help Wanted is basically an anthology of short stories featuring the main cast from the franchise.

Characters

It includes full remasters of the first three games (with new graphics), plus a lot of new story content, such as the ability to play as Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, and Springtrap, among others.

Minigames

There’s even a brand new game called “Help Wanted” that features a bunch of minigames inspired by the franchise.

Environment

There are a lot of things that make Help Wanted absolutely terrifying, but ironically, the only part of the game that ISN’T scary is the jumpscares. The ambiance sounds, the huge animatronics, the environment, and the fear of being jump-scared are scary.

We expected the jumpscares to be worse than they actually are because you’re in VR. When we played the game, we were more scared when we saw Bonnie in the hallway than we were when Foxy jump-scared us when we tried to leave the office.

We were more scared when we saw Phantom Foxy in the corner of the room than we were when he actually jump-scared us. Those are just two examples.

Scary

Playing FNaF VR gives you an immersive sense of being there. You feel like you’re really at Freddy’s, or Fazbears’ Fright, or the room from FNaF 4, and that feeling makes the game even better.

We think the scariest minigames are the ones where you’re in the FNAF 4 bedroom.

  • The 1st is a single night of playing FNAF 4 but with Freddy,
  • The 2nd is similar, but with Marionette, and you have to play with your flashlight to ward off her tentacles.
  • In the 3rd, you’re hiding from Clown Baby in the wardrobe, and the 4th is just FNAF 4 Night 5 (with Nightmare Fredbear) but in VR.

There’s no need to discuss the tapes since they’re just mini-games. But pay close attitude to what the Tape Girl tells you during them.

Regardless of whether or not you enjoy the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise, if you’re into VR horror games, you will absolutely adore Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted.

Until Dawn: Rush Of Blood

Until Dawn may not be an especially new title, but it remains one of the best VR horror games out there.

It features a simple storyline, where players are forced to ride a roller coaster to hell with so many terrifyingly twisted plot lines that they’ll surely never get bored of playing it again.

Developer’s note – If you’ve played Until Dawn before, then you know exactly what we’re talking about here. If not, then strap yourself in for an adrenaline rush, unlike anything you’ve experienced before.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

It’s not exactly a new release, but Resident Evil 7 has been one of the most anticipated games for quite some time now. With its 12-hour campaign, you’ll be able to experience an entirely different side of the franchise than ever before. If you’re looking for something truly terrifying, then look no further.

A developer describes the new Resident Evil title as taking Ethan Winters to a rundown plantation in Dulvey, Louisiana.

It’s not all well at the old Baker residence, though; the whole place appears to be crumbling, no one has seen anyone for years, and there have even been some disappearances reported from nearby.

Conclusion

The best way to describe Five Nights At Freddy’s: Help Wanted is as a horror game that takes place in virtual reality. In other words, it’s a horror game that happens to take place in virtual reality.

The gameplay itself isn’t particularly unique, but the fact that you’re inside of a virtual world means that you can do things that would normally be impossible.

For example, you could jump through windows, climb walls, and even use objects like chairs and tables as weapons.
