That being said, you can’t always know how a speaker is going to perform unless you see the performance for yourself.

This is why we tested this product for months in order to bring you this review. We’ve listed all you need to know about these speakers as well as whether it’s worth getting or not.

Quick Summary of the Main Product

This product is a great blend of portability and heavy-duty performance. We really did not think that something like this could be possible but the folks at Gemini have really outdone themselves this time.

For the price, this speaker is worth every penny. The majority of speakers that we have reviewed in this price range don’t give half the value that these speakers provide.

It has a 15-inch woofer with a 2000-watt amplifier and as you can probably guess, this results in some heart-pounding bass and extremely loud audio. That being said, the sound never gets distorted or muddy no matter how high the volume is. The bass is also rich and deep with very moody tones.

Bluetooth connectivity in it also works great and we noticed no interruptions or drops in the sound even at distances as long as 50 feet.

In addition to the bluetooth capabilities, it also has a number of other inputs, all with their own separate controls. Some of the inputs are Line XLR, RCA, ¼” and ⅛”.

Features and Benefits

Long Bluetooth Range

The bluetooth range was really something that we were worried about as you don’t want the audio becoming distorted or interrupted if the device gets too far from the speaker.

Since these speakers are typically used in live event venues, it’s important to have a speaker that has a long bluetooth range. This speaker is definitely right for the job in terms of that.

Top and Side Handles

The top and side handles make this speaker extremely easy to carry and you may want to consider this if you’re going to be moving it around a lot.

Integrated MP3 Player

It features an integrated MP3 player along with USB and SD card slots. This along with its bluetooth capabilities means that you can use these speakers to listen to music in a number of different ways.

Wide Variety of Inputs

The PA speaker has dual input channels with their own separate controls. Furthermore, it also has inputs for microphone(s), Line XLR, ¼”,⅛”, RCA inputs, mix output as well as equalization controls.

Rugged Exterior

The exterior is extremely sturdy and is designed to protect the speaker inside. It can survive the most hostile show environments and come out unscathed.

Pros and Cons

Social Proof

We scoured the internet for reviews on this speaker and how it has performed for others. It’s always a good idea to look at what other people thought of a product as they can provide a more accurate picture about what the product is like.

We found reviews that not only praised the speaker, its bass and its performance but also praised the customer support. We found a customer whose speaker got lost in transition but Gemini was very open to helping them out.

Guide to Buy

Active vs Passive

Firstly, you’re going to have to decide whether you want to get an active or a passive powered speaker

Active powered speakers have a built-in amplifier. They’re great if you’re looking for something portable as they can connect straight into a mixing board’s jacks. Furthermore, it saves you time as you don’t have to go fumbling through wires and connecting tons of amps to your system.

Passive speakers, on the other hand, need outboard amplifiers. They can be suitable for you if you need them for a permanent setting such as a live event venue, church or school, etc.

Power Rating

It’s important to consider the power rating of a speaker when you’re shopping for one as that will tell you how much the speaker can handle without sustaining damage.

The peak power rating of the speaker will tell you how much it can handle at any single instant in time.

Size

This will depend on what you’re using the speaker for. If it’s going to be sitting in the same venue not being moved at all and if you have the space for it, then by all means, go out and get a big speaker.

However, if you’re going to be moving it around or if you don’t have enough space at your venue, then you may want to invest in something smaller.

Ease of Use

You don’t want a speaker that is too complicated or clunky to use. This is especially important since these types of speakers are typically used in live events.

You don’t want to run into complications with the speaker in the middle of an event. Thus, it should be very simple to use.

Wrapping Things Up

With that, we’re at the end of our Gemini Powered Speakers review. We’ve found that they’re incredibly loud and produce crisp, clear sound with deep and rich bass. They’re also extremely simple to use.  Tell us in the comments which speakers you’re using for your live events.
