Both Google and Samsung have made their own unique approaches to folding phones and slabs.
Screen
Most things you can’t do on a 7.5-incher also don’t work on a 6.3-incher. However, the aspect ratios of screens make a big difference.
When folded, the much wider Z Fold 3 has a large, almost square screen that makes the smaller Pixel 7 seem cramped and compromised.
On a smartphone screen, comic books look like they’re printed on paper. But when you read them on the Z Fold 3, they feel like they were actually drawn by hand.
Display
On both the front and inside display panels of Samsung’s new foldable phone, there are two high-res 120Hz Super AMOLED screens with deep blacks, bright colors, and smooth animations.
Multitasking
With the Galaxy Z Fold 3, we can use up to four apps at once. However, it’s not always easy to manage multiple apps at once. Sometimes, we use two or three apps at once, with YouTube and Twitter on one side and Reddit on the other.

Software
Fewer clicks mean less time spent waiting for things to happen. For example, when using Samsung’s phone application to place a call, swiping right on someone’s contact card puts them on hold, and swiping left sends an SMS.

And when on a call, the Samsung lacks a dedicated speakerphone button, requiring to use of another drop-down menu.

Conclusion
Foldable devices offer tremendous flexibility in a compact form factor. They’re so useful that they could be used as a PC, albeit with some compromises (e.g., no keyboard).
The foldable market remains an expensive niche. Who knows, perhaps Google will create its own folding phone. Rumors are already indicating a 2023 Pixel Fold launch date. Until then, though the Z Fold 3 has me hooked.
