Before unveiling the Galaxy S23, which is expected to be unveiled at MWC 2019, Samsung will most likely launch its new Galaxy A series smartphones, including the

  • Galaxy Alpha 4G
  • Galaxy A51 5G
  • Galaxy A53 5G
  • and the upcoming Galaxy A64 5G.

These devices will almost certainly be powered by Samsung’s upcoming Exynos chipsets which offer better performance than their predecessors.

Exynos 1380

The Galaxy A54 has been spotted in GeekBench’s database using an Exynos 1380 chip, which will succeed the Samsung Exynos 1220 chip that powers the Galaxy A33 5g and the Galaxy A53.

CPU Cores

The Exynos 7420 has four high-performing CPU cores clocking at 1.9 GHz and four low-power CPU cores clocking at 800 MHz.

GPU

It also features the same Mali-G68 GPU that’s used in the Exynos 1280. However, it could have more GPU cores or a higher clock speed.

CPU Test

As per Geekbench’s performance test results, the Exynos 1380 scored

  • 776 points in the single-core CPU test
  • 2,599 points in the multi-core CPU test.

We expect the next generation SoC to be built using the same Cortex-A76 cores found in the Exynos 1280.

Compared to the Galaxy A53 5g’s Exyno 1280 chip, the Snapdragon 855+ has a better multi-core score, meaning that it performs better overall.
