Gamers can soon get this critically acclaimed game entirely for free.

Death Stranding

Reports suggest that the game Death Stranding will be free to download on Epic Games Store for Christmas.

The news first surfaced on Reddit and Resetera, before becoming popular on other social media platforms, particularly Twitter, due to leaked images.

Epic, at the moment, lists the Christmas release as a “mystery game”.

An Unconventional Type of Experience

The game from designer Hideo Kojima transcends all genres and challenges players to become Sam Bridges and unite the fragmented world.

Your mission is to bring hope back to humanity as you navigate a decimated America, doing your best to restore everything piece by piece.

Death Stranding was made accessible to PlayStation 4 users on November 8, 2019, and to PC players on July 14, 2020, or Bastille Day. It’s probably a sheer coincidence, but with Kojima, you can never be certain.

Despite mixed reviews, the game has generally been met with favorable responses in both releases.

Epic’s Giveaways

The release of XCOM 2 for free back in April is just the latest among several major releases Epic has handed out for free. Its official description reads “Earth has altered and is now under alien reign.

To save humanity, you must reconstruct XCOM and encourage a global rebellion despite the impossible odds.”

Star Wars Giveaway

In 2020, Epic Games released Star Wars Squadrons, dubbed by many as the greatest Star Wars game of all time. Players are encouraged to “master the art of starfighter combat” with an immersive, first-person experience of multiplayer battles, paired with a thrilling narrative.
