Sierra On Line co-founder Roberta Williams has revealed the release date for their new game, Colossal Cave, at The Game Awards 2022.

The developers say that Colossa is a 3D interpretation of the original game. It’ll be available for Mac, Meta Quest 2 (Mac), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 (PS5), Xbox Series X (Xbox), and Windows PC on January 19th.
Price
Colossal Cave Adventure will cost $39.95 on all platforms.
Release
Both PS4 and Xbox One editions will be released in the second half of 2023. Colosseum was previously announced for a spring 2021 release.
According to an article by Vice, Roberta and Kenneth Williams are publishing and leading the development of video games such as Cygnus Entertainment. They previously worked together at Electronic Arts (EA) developing the popular sports franchise Madden NFL.
“The original Colossal Cave Adventure, a 2019 Video Game Hall of Fame recipient, will forever hold a special place in the hearts of Ken and I,” Roberta said in a news release.
“We’ve built this world with all of the love and wonder of the first game, and hope the next generation of gamers can experience the same magical touch it had on our lives.”
Both Roberta and Kenneth received the Industry Icon Award at The Game Awards in 2013, alongside an official statement that Sierra On-Line’s King’s Quest would be remade by The Odd Gentlemen and published by Activision, reviving the Sierra label in 2014, and releasing the game in five chapters, from 2014 to 2016.
Activision still holds the rights to Roberta’s and Kenneth’s Sierra On-Line titles.
Industry Pioneers
Roberta and Ken started Sierra On-Line in 1980. They’re considered to be some of the most influential people in gaming history. As Cygnus Games, Roberta and Ken say they want to “create more amazing games like the seminal classics that made them famous.” Like King’s Quest, Space Quest, Phantasmagoria, and others.
