Bloodborne players have been given renewed hopes that the beloved PS4 game could be updated today.

Since the release of the PlayStation 5 in 2020, fans of FromSoftware’s critically acclaimed horror game Bloodborne have been waiting and hoping that an upgraded version would be available to play on the new console.

And while Sony has not yet indicated that anything of this sort might happen in the future, fans continue to find reasons to believe that this could actually become a reality.

Update – Server Infrastructure

A new patch for Bloodborne is scheduled to be released tomorrow, December 8.

This update isn’t going to affect the actual gameplay of the games themselves, but rather its server infrastructure.

While there’s no indication that anything big is coming from this patch, some fans were surprised that it was released at the same time as The Game Awards.

TheGameAwards

After all, TheGameAwards is often an event where big game announcements are made.

So, maybe this maintenance could take place near a larger update for Bloodborne which might also soon go live.

Many Bloodborne fans pointed out that the game had been receiving server updates like this before without leading to any bigger patches.

There’s always a chance that something might happen differently this time around, but we’ve seen enough evidence to know that most of our dreams won’t come true.

Bloodborne 2

As for Bloodborne 2, since Sony doesn’t seem to be interested in developing it anymore, hope is the only thing that fans can cling to.

There’s no way that an announcement of Bloodborne 2 could happen at The Game Awards. Fans are just setting themselves up for more disappointment this week.
