Taiwan tech company Asus has announced the launch of its new smartwatch called the VivoWatch 5. It claims to be the world‘s first wearable device that measures heart rate using finger pulses.

The new ASUS smartwatch has an ECG sensor, allowing for continuous heart rate variability tracking.

It also has an infrared light source and two independent sensors for detecting blood flow.

Moreover, the new ECG feature has received the necessary certification, in addition to the ability to monitor the level of oxygen in the bloodstream.

Other Health Features

With the help of the smart wristband, users can easily monitor their health and fitness metrics. This can be confirmed by measuring heart rate, relaxation level, sleep patterns, etc.

Fitness Wearable

The VivoWatch5 AERO is also a smartwatch. It can track your steps, calories burned, sleep quality, heart rate, and more. You can use its various sports modes to exercise.

Battery Life

It has a 7-day lifespan on one charge and it weighs just 30 grams.

Water Resistant

It is rated 5A and is protected even when immersed underwater.

Magnetic Charging

The Asus VivoWatches support magnetic charging.

Accessibility

The new Asus health band has been released in China and is available at most online stores there. It costs 830 yuan ($120) and can be bought from major Chinese websites.

The innovative fingertip blood pressure monitor available with the wearable is the main reason why people will buy it. It’s going to be popular in China and even outside of China.

Asus has not provided any details about the global availability and pricing of its new smartwatch.
