According to a recent report, the Apple Watch Ultra is set to receive an upgrade in the form of a 2.1-inch display by 2024. The current Ultra model already boasts a larger 1.92-inch display, making it one of the standout features of the premium and durable smartwatch.

It is not yet clear what new technology will be included in the upgraded display. Apple has not made any official announcements about the update at this time.

Apple Watch Ultra Introduces Micro-LED Screen

According to a new report from Hong Kong investment firm Haiton International Securities, the upcoming Apple Watch Ultra 3 is set to feature a micro-LED display.

This new technology is expected to replace OLED as the go-to screen technology and will offer a higher brightness output than current Apple Watch models with OLED screens.

The report also suggests that the tentatively-named Apple Watch Ultra 3 will have a larger screen size of 2.1 inches, making it the largest in the Apple Watch’s history.

Cost

The small size of the watch’s display, which is significantly smaller than those found on smartphones, is expected to make the technology more cost-effective and allow for further development.

Release

While the specific details of the Apple Watch Ultra 2024 remain unclear, a new Ultra model is expected to be released later this year. It is currently unknown if Apple will adopt an annual release schedule for its premium Watch series.
