Acer has announced the release of their new Predator Helios gaming laptops featuring 16- and 18-inch displays at CES 2023. Gamers will be pleased with the latest 13th-gen Intel Core processors, Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 series graphics, and an enhanced cooling system.

The Predator Helios line is known for offering premium components and the latest release is no different. In addition to Intel and Nvidia options, the laptops will support up to 32GB of DDR5-4800 RAM and up to 2TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe solid-state drives in RAID 0.

Improved Cooling System

To ensure the components stay cool during intense gaming sessions, Acer has implemented a dual custom-engineered fifth-gen AeroBlade 3D metal fan and vector heat pipes in the shape of rectangles for improved heat transfer.

Display Options

The new Helios gaming laptops from Acer offer three 2,560×1,600-pixel display options with a 165Hz or 240Hz refresh rate or a Mini LED panel with a 250Hz refresh rate, 100% P3 color gamut, and a peak brightness over 1,000 nits. The 18-inch Helios also offers an entry-level 1,920×1,200-pixel display at 165Hz.

Customizable Keyboard and RGB Light Bar

In addition to the impressive display options, the Helios laptops feature a mini-LED backlit keyboard with deep 1.8-millimeter key travel and per-key lighting that uses less power while providing bright, uniform color. Gamers can also customize the RGB light bar that runs across the top of the back vents.

Overall, the Helios laptops offer a high-quality gaming experience with a sleek design and top-of-the-line display and keyboard options.

Price

Acer’s new Predator Helios gaming laptops are set to hit the market in March and April, with the Helios 16 starting at $1,650 and the Helios 18 starting at $1,700. Both laptops will also be available in Europe a month earlier.

The UK and Australian pricing have not yet been announced, but the Helios 16 is expected to convert to approximately £1,370 or AU$2,445.

Lower-Priced Nitro Gaming Laptops

For those looking for a bigger display at a lower price point, Acer has also introduced the new Nitro gaming laptops in 16- and 17.3-inch sizes.

These laptops will also be equipped with the latest Intel and Nvidia chips, up to 32GB of DDR5 memory, and up to a 2TB PCIe Gen4 SSD for storage.

The Nitro laptops will offer display options including a 2,560×1,600-pixel panel with a 165Hz refresh rate on the 16-inch version and either a 144Hz or 165Hz full-HD or 165Hz quad-HD display on Nitro 17.
