Ace Combat 7 is an excellent game that offers a lot of content. The game isn’t difficult to learn but requires some time to get good at. It’s a solid addition to the Ace Combat franchise and a worthwhile purchase for fans of the action genre.

Let’s find out how many VR missions it offers.

Ace Combat 7 How Many VR Missions?

It includes a series of three exclusive modes, Air Show Mode, Free Flight, and Hangar.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown

It’s been too long since we’ve had a real opportunity to fly a fighter jet, engage in intense dogfights, and just destroy things without having to memorize any manuals.

Ace Combat 7: Sky’Unlocked returns the series to its roots by bringing back a genre that has been missing for years.

Compatibility

VR mode was added to the PS4 version of Ace Combat 7 when it was released in January 2019. It has been exclusive to PlayStation for one full year since then, but there are currently not any announced future ports to other systems.

Gameplay

The fast-paced, arcadey flying and combat gameplay that made Ace Combat so popular from 1995 to 2014 is back and a whole bunch of fun.

You’ll blow up bombers, chase after ace enemies, and destroy their bases, one missile at a time across various situations and environments.

Even though this isn’t a hardcore flying game, there’s quite a lot of strategy involved in planning your attacks – your aircraft is always moving, so you need to know what you want to target and when you want to target it.

You need to maximize your efficiency so that you don’t run out of time or fuel before completing all your tasks.

Role

Mobius 1 plays the role of the player when in VR mode.

Controls

You can play using any control scheme compatible with the main title for VR mode, including flight sticks.

Aircraft VR

Since the game only features a few planes, they’re built from scratch for virtual reality. Each plane has a high-quality model texture and fully working cockpits. Before every mission, players select and view their plane in a hangar modeled after the real world.

Non-VR Gameplay Modes

Each aircraft has the same three special weapons that are available in the non-virtual reality game modes.

The full listing of aircraft available in VR mode is as follows:

Weapons

Each aircraft has one unique special ability, which must be used for each mission. Once you’ve completed one mission, you’ll unlock the next aircraft’s special ability. And once you’ve completed two consecutive tasks, you’ll unlock the final aircraft’s special ability.

VR Missions

VR mode includes three exclusive missions that need to be done in order. These missions include a small number of different types of missions.

  • VR Mission 01 is an arcade game where the players must destroy all incoming enemy aircraft and their escorts.
  • VR Mission 02 involves flying through the air and fighting off enemies on the ground.
  • VR Missions 3 is a dogfight over mountainous terrain with a boss battle at the finish.

Mission Difficulty

You can select from Easy, Normal, Hard, and Expert difficulties before starting a new game.

ACE

Completing all four missions on HARD mode unlocks an even harder ACE mode.

Clear Rank

At the end of every level, players earn a Clear Score which depends on how long they took to finish the level. An S score is the best possible score.

Free Flight

VR mode lets players fly freely through the three VR mission areas.

  • Fort Grays Island
  • The Scofield’s Plateau
  • The Waiapolo Mountains.

During Free Flight, players have 10 minutes to spend before the game ends. There are no radio comms during Free Flight.

Airshow Mode

With its Airshow mode, VR Mode lets you stand on the decks of and observe Albatross Omega Squadron performing various aerial maneuvers.

You can move around the carrier, order the squadrons to perform certain maneuvers, and turn off or play music from the carrier’s speakers at any time.
