Discord, a popular communication platform among gamers and various communities, is constantly evolving to provide its users with new features and enhanced experiences.

In response to user feedback, Discord is now set to launch an in-app soundboard for voice channels, which will offer users the ability to play a variety of sounds while interacting with others.

Discord Rolls Out In-App Soundboard for Voice Channels

Expanding Fun and Interaction

Discord is set to launch its in-app soundboard, allowing users to play a variety of sounds in voice channels. Initially an experiment for select communities, the feature will roll out in the coming weeks, as announced in a Discord blog post.

Desktop App Exclusive

The soundboard will only be available for use on Discord’s desktop app. Mobile users will be able to hear the sounds but won’t have access to the soundboard, according to Kellyn Slone, director of product communications.

Adjusting Settings and Permissions

Users can easily adjust the volume or mute sounds from Discord soundboards in their settings. Additionally, server owners can set permissions to control who can use soundboards.

Perks for Nitro Subscribers

Nitro subscribers will enjoy extra soundboard features, including the ability to use uploaded sounds across multiple servers. Other benefits for Nitro subscribers include additional themes, avatar decorations, and “Super Reactions” – animated emoji reactions available on the desktop app.

To showcase the new feature, all Discord desktop users will receive two free Super Reactions.

“The coming weeks will see the soundboard feature rolling out to Discord users, enhancing the platform’s fun and interactive capabilities,” Discord announced in a blog post.

Third-Party Soundboard Alternatives

No More Reliance on External Tools

The official Discord soundboard eliminates the need for third-party software like Voicemod, which users previously relied on to access soundboard functionality.

Embracing User Feedback

Discord’s decision to launch the in-app soundboard is a result of listening to user feedback and enhancing the platform’s interactive features. The company aims to create an engaging and entertaining experience for all users.

“The introduction of the in-app soundboard showcases Discord’s commitment to improving user experience by implementing features that cater to user demands and enhance the platform’s interactivity,” said Kellyn Slone, director of product communications.

Conclusion

The introduction of Discord’s in-app soundboard is a significant step towards enhancing user interaction and engagement within the platform.

By eliminating the need for third-party software and offering exclusive benefits to Nitro subscribers, Discord demonstrates its commitment to improving user experience and adapting to the needs of its growing community.

As the soundboard feature rolls out in the coming weeks, users can look forward to a more dynamic and entertaining communication experience on Discord.
