Destiny 2 is a popular online game that has been around for several years. The game’s next expansion, Lightfall, is set to launch on February 28th, bringing a host of changes to the game.

What to Expect from Lightfall?

Game director Joe Blackburn wrote a blog post titled “Lightfall and the Year Ahead” outlining what’s to come. The expansion will make the game more difficult, with enemies hitting harder and player abilities taking longer to come off of cooldown.

The goal is to make things feel more dangerous and encourage further cooperation.

Changes to the Power Level System

Destiny 2’s power level system is also getting an overhaul. The cap will remain static in the following Season of the Deep and potentially be removed entirely in 2024.

Issues

Blackburn explains that they think there are major issues with power in Destiny 2 and how it prevents players from seeing some of the game’s best content.

Final Shape

The Final Shape will be the last expansion in the current Light and the Darkness Saga, setting the stage for whatever comes next.

Season of Defiance

Season of Defiance will start alongside Lightfall. It will do away with Umbrals and Umbral Energies, feature fewer but better seasonal vendor upgrades, and tougher Vanguard Ops, and introduce new Crucible game modes Countdown, Countdown Rush, and Checkmate Control, among others.

Conclusion

Are you excited about the future of Destiny 2? Will you be diving into Lightfall when it drops next week?
